January 1, 2020
Welcome to You, Me & Coffee.
January 1 is a symbolic day for many of us. We see it as a day to turn a new leaf, start new routines, commit to resolutions ... you get the idea. We all know that we shouldn't wait until a new year to get ourselves on track for whatever or wherever it is we want to be -- but we do it anyway. Why? Because we allow symbolism to influence our decisions. A new year = a new chapter - at least that's how we've trained our brains to think (and that's okay).
This January 1 isn't just a new year, it's a new decade. This isn't just a new chapter. It's an entirely new book. Talk about symbolism!
How are you going to begin your book? What do you want, need, desire, miss, hope for? Who are you in the 2020s? Who do you surround yourself with? What can you do for you? What can you do for others? What can others do for you? Write your book, even if you just write it in your head. Put yourself first in this book because you deserve that. Be selfish, be giving, be thankful, be respectful, be whatever and whoever it is that you know you need this year - only you can define that and I have a strong feeling that you already know how you will write the character of you in your book.
As I sit here and sip my favorite coffee in one of my many favorite mugs, I am writing the first entry to this new book and sharing it with all of you. If you read the home page, you already know that I made a promise to myself to continue writing this year as I always have, but this time I am going to write daily and I will share my thoughts with all of you. Sometimes you will relate to what I write, and other times you may skip over one of my blog entries because it's boring (it'll happen, trust me!), but my hope is that my thoughts and words mean something to you and your new book.
Sit Back & Enjoy Your Cup Of Joe
